The course curricula for B. Tech (Dairy Science & Technology), is prepared in lines with the pattern specified by the Indian Council for Agricultural Research (I.C.A.R),

New Delhi as a unique job oriented degree programme which leads to the overall development of graduates and make them capable to face various situations in varied field of work. The course is offered for a total duration of eight semesters. The last semester is set apart for In-plant training and Farm training. The total credits have been apportioned to Dairy Engineering, Dairy Technology, Dairy Chemistry, Dairy Microbiology, Dairy Business Management and Dairy Husbandry disciplines with due weightage for each. Students are exposed to the entire gamut of operations taking place in professionally managed dairy processing units, which help them to acquire the required skills set and confidence to work as highly motivated professionals for the emerging dairy industry.  They are also enriched with entrepreneurial qualities to start their own industrial units. Internship programme in the Eighth semester provides every student, the required practical exposure in scientific management of organized dairy farms and also in the operation, maintenance and management of large scale commercial dairy processing units like Amul, Schreiber Dynamix, Mother Dairy, Milma etc.

Internship Training
All the students are required to undergo hands on training in the experimental dairy plant during the VIIth semester and undergo work experience training during the VIIIth semester.  The work experience programme is organized in the dairy farms for a period of 35 days and in commercial dairy plants for a period of 70 days.  These work experience programmes are intended to gain practical exposure in the management of organized dairy farms and also in the operation, maintenance and management of a large Commercial Dairy Plant.
Students are offered In-plant training in the big commercial dairy plants such as AMUL, Schreiber Dynamix, Mother Dairy etc for the plant training.
